Not a question, but a place to put this information for anyone looking for it.  Adding a delay to the post processor for spindle speed ramp up:

function startSpindle(tool, insertToolCall) {
  if (tool.type != TOOL_PROBE) {
    var spindleSpeedIsRequired = insertToolCall || forceSpindleSpeed || isFirstSection() ||
      rpmFormat.areDifferent(spindleSpeed, sOutput.getCurrent()) ||
      (tool.clockwise != getPreviousSection().getTool().clockwise);

    writeStartBlocks(spindleSpeedIsRequired, function () {
      if (spindleSpeedIsRequired || operationNeedsSafeStart) {
        onCommand(COMMAND_START_SPINDLE);
      }
      //Spindle Speed Ramp up Delay
      writeBlock("G4P6");
    });
  }
}

This outputs:

(2D Contour1 22)
T1
S18000 M3
G4P6
G17 G90 G94
G54
M8
