Adaptive Clearing Hammer Like Behavious

Any Idea why Adaptive Clearing keeps retracting and plunging the tool instead of just staying down and clearing that area? 
It's the first Operation in "Top Left B" Setup. This happens at about 2/3 of the simulation.

I not sure if it will be the solution you are looking for, but once you have set the area you are trying to clear and have it right, Change your stay down level from "least" to "most" and increase you maximum stay down distance. It takes alot longer to calculate so only change those once your boundaries,step down,  etc are set and you are happy with those.

If it takes really long you may want to protect the path afterwards so that you dont have to regenerate it in the future.

Yes, it takes forever. But what you said makes sense. I'll try it. Thanks!

Didn't know about protect. Apparently it protects the toolpath for when i change the design. Good to know

It can be good, but it can also be bad. If you change something in front of or behind that operation you could be asking for trouble. I only use it progressively such that I get my first operation where I want it, protect it move on to second protect it ect.
