4th axis rotary toolpath problem

Hi!I have a 3d model that i want to use it to test the 4th axis rotary toolpath.The problem is that when i create toolpath i can't make it to go around the model.There is a side of the 3d model that is not covered by the toolpath.I have made different tests with a different 3d model(cylinder shape) for this rotary toolpath and everything was ok.I can't see what i am missing here.

I had attach the 3d model and a screenshot for better understanding of the issue.

The bit that is missed is outside the stock for some reason.

if you set the stock like below it works

It is more than likely that there is zero or near zero material in that area.

Yeah, but even changing the stock to a much larger cylinder still doesn't allow success 🤔

In the "Radii" tab, the outer radius is "stock OD" -0.746mm.  Changed that to 0.0 and it works.  

The only thing I don't like is that at a certain point it leads in and out instead of continuing the spiral, but at least it machines everything.

hi,

i just take a look and the problem is in your stock

i just take a cylinder to figure this out and everythings is fine

or make an offset of your solide after duplicate this one

Yeah, my comment about not getting it to work was based more on the fact that Spiral stopped...spiraling. I was able to get 100% coverage, but it seems to me that the behavior in the first section SHOULD continue through the rest of the part out to the tip

Hi!Thank you all for your help!I had made some progress with my chalenge but is not finish yet.In the photos you can see that the biggest issue i have in the bottom side of the model.It seems to be a little toolpath difference between spiral and circular strategy.SpiralSpiralCircularCircular

Idea with rotary seems to be that tool spins around selected rotary axis regardless of model configuration, so if that axis falls outside of model and tool is trying to follow it but also cut model, something is going to get messed up and you can see it in tool path trying to loop around exposed rotary axis instead of making loop around model.

 

I split model at point where rotary axis needs to be moved so that it passes thru model, created two setups and gave each setup different origin point on model.

I thing its pretty well coordinated which leads me to believe that you could machine some odd shapes using rotary tool path if you split model in as many segments as it takes to always keep rotary axis passing thru that segment of model. 

 

 

Edit;

Splitting model in segments would need to be coordinated with setting work offsets in machine, I would have to run first segment in one setup, then shift origin in Z and X axis by distance from first origin shown in Fusion and run second half.

Well another thought comes to mind that may hinder efforts to execute above idea on machine.

Shifting X axis is matter of changing one number, shifting center of rotary axis would require a precise mechanical device that can easily be adjusted in Z direction while not losing Y0 position when A0 is in line with Z axis.

Aside from fixture in 4 jaws chuck, I am not familiar with other devices, although I have done some work on vertical mill and 4th axis, it's not in my job description, that's why.
