3d Toolpaths Won't Penetrate the Model - 2D Works Just Fine?

Hope someone can tell me what I'm doing wrong here.

Have an odd problem where 3D toolpaths will not behave as I expect - I cannot get any to actually penetrate the model to the specified bottom of the cut. 2D operations have no problem. It seems like its something to do with the set-up but I can't see the problem. Wasted a few hours pulling my hair out and really need to get on with this job ASAP! Can anyone help?

Hey, your issue is that in the setup you have both the part AND the stock body selected under model.

You need to have only the part body selected.

It wont machine into the part because it sees the stock as part of the model.
