@seth.madore, sure, in this case running 0.0005 is a little excessive. But in some cases I use 3D Adaptive with really small tools and really small Stock to leave and running 0.0005 tolerance in needful. That is why I set the default so low. Besides I'm running new machines with high speed controllers that are capable of processing lines very quickly, so setting tolerances tight isn't a big deal. While loosening the tolerance "fixes" the problem for this part, the fact is, it doesn't really fix it, it just avoids it. Fusion still has a serious bug. And sure, there is a reason you set the default to 0.004, but there's also a reason you allow users to reduce it. BTW, after my first post I made some modifications to the tool path that I thought avoided the problem but turns out if I would have ran it it would've broken my tool. Take a look at the attached video. Instead of retracting and then rapiding into the stock it just takes a full slot feed move, which is actually sort of worse because simulation didn't give collision but it would have no doubt broken the tool.
Last week we busted a very expensive boring bar because of a Fusion bug and now this. A software will loose it's dependability and value very quickly with these kinds of things. It would be a shame for this to happen to a software as good as Fusion. And yes, I mean as good as Fusion, don't get me wrong, I am not a Fusion hater. I've been using it for over 6 years now and I love it. It has been a wonderful software for our shop. But you can't trust the software if you keep finding these bugs, and a software that you can't trust doesn't have much value. If your software breaks your tools, well then it would pay off very quickly to get a dependable software even if it's much more expensive.
I really hope the development team will get on top of these things.
