2D Pocket finish pass ignoring roughing axial stock-to-leave

Newbie question.  I want to rough mill a flat pocket with 2D Adaptive clearing, 1/4" bit, with both Radial and Axial stock-to-leave of 0.5 mm.   I then want to do a 2D Pocket finish pass, 1/8" bit, Rest machining checked (with Tool Dia set to 6.35mm & Corner Radius set to 3.175mm), Finishing Passes checked, and stock-to-leave unchecked.  

 

When I run the simulation, the roughing pass works fine, but the 2D Pocket pass just cuts the contour, not the bottom of the pocket.  It is as if the 2D Pocket pass is ignoring the roughing pass Axial stock-to-leave of 0.5 mm.  I've tried tweaking the 2D Adaptive axial stock-to-leave to 1, 2, or 3 mm, but in each case the 2D Pocket finish pass still acts like a contour pass.   

 

I know I could set the axial stock -to-leave to 0 mm and just use a 2D Contour to clean up the walls, but I'd really like to clean up the floor of the pocket also.    What am I missing?   Thanks!

Can you File>Export>*.f3D and attach your file to the post? Its tough to tell from just pictures.

Uncheck the "Rest Machining" and try using a "Profile" entry set at 10 degrees, that will ramp down more quickly that a Helix and machine all the floor of the pocket where you left 2mm and also take the 0.5mm off the sides with an extra pass.db2-MOD.JPG

That's it!  I misunderstood how Rest machining works in the 2D operations.  It looks like it only pays attention to those spaces the rough (presumably larger) bit cannot reach.  It does not pay attention to the stock-to-leave margin from the rough pass.  

From what I've read 3D operations do take stock-to-leave into account?  If so, presumably the 3D pocket clearing operation would have been a better choice.
