2d Contour Bottom to Top?

hi

 

i am doing a slot operation and i would like to start from bottom to top but cant find a way to do it using 2d contour.

 

what is the correct way to do that?

Working bottom to top for a 2D Contour makes no sense... if you machine at full depth first, there is nothing further to remove by stepping upwards.

 

If you're trying to machine upwards on a sloped wall, then that's not a 2D operation. You should be using 3D Contour instead.

Unless one is using a key cutter on a straight wall.

@ilan1204 2d contour does not provide a method of going "bottom up" nor do I think there are any plans on doing so. You can use multiple toolpaths to accomplish this or the 3D Contour, which I supports a bottom > up direction:

thanks for your reply.

 

i am using a T-Slot milling tool and i have and undercut that was done via turning process so now i want to use the milling tool to perform the milling operation.

the yellow part is turning path and the purple is the milling i need to do. so instead of starting from top to bottom and cutting 1 cut to much material i am doing it from bottom to top. i use 2d contour since it is simple and what i need. then i use pattern and add step with Z+ distance and i get what i needed.
