2D Adaptive: Tool full slots + plunges into stock

It starts out taking a .05" stepover as specified but it ends up full slotting here:

I feel like it calculates the topmost stepovers after the bottommost (as expected) but decides to mill the top first.

 

Also plunges into stock at some points:

Try enabling slot clearing.  Also make your stock selection bigger so it starts machine before machining before it gets to the real stock

Also 2d adaptive needs enough room to work.  For example a 12.7 mm tool will not work in a 15mm slot without alter the inputs.

Thanks but none of that stopped the tool from full slotting.

you need to select the bottom "full" profile of your part as stock. It thinks your upper level is only where it's highlighted blue.

why not try 3D adaptive?
