2022 Apple MacBook Pro 16'' M1 MAX - ON THE WORK FLOOR!

Well today is the day I have finally got the new rig up and running for the shop floor. Some mods made to this rig for shop life include a hard case, silicone keyboard cover, tempered glass screen protector, and "custom" used dryer sheet air intake filters.

Software I use daily consist of Fusion 360, Visual Studio Code, and NC Plot for Macro B development/debugging. I also have a subscription to parallels which allows me to run Windows 11 (this is how I use NC Plot.)

If anyone has any questions feel free to ask.

Have you taken this benchmark test yet? Would be interested to see your results. https://portlandcnc.com/blog/2021/11/m1-pro-fusion360

Hows the heat while It's in deep work mode?

I will have to check out the benchmark test you have set up as I would be interested as well.

So far the heat has been minimal, so little the fans don't even come on. This is also while running Windows 11 in the background using Parallels. Here are some screen shots of the laptops temp after simulation:

I also have noticed zero hesitation when simulating tool paths and having the accuracy maxed out. My 2019 MacBook could not handle this. That laptop was top end when I bought it too having 64gb of ram. The fans run constantly that.

This new laptop also has 64GB of ram with the M1 Max chip.

I have submitted my results for the CNC portion of your benchmark. I am not impressed as the overall average came out to 191.65. Maybe I did something wrong?

It's not my test, I'm just a fan of the idea. 191 is faster than the desktop I'm working on so it's all relative. I've heard that someday Fusion will add the apple ios or chip to their system (no idea what I'm talking about) in order for fusion to then run natively on the M1 chip which will actually utilize its abilities.... rumors probably heard incorrectly
