When a field is positioned within the matrix, it becomes challenging to ascertain its 'required' status. Personally, I consider this specific visual representation of a required field crucial for swift identification during item creation or editing.

Please consider implementing this idea as a potential enhancement in the future.

The matrix is great because it allows for a more compact view. We have many attributes associated with our items and have used the matrix extensively. Unfortunately it is now impossible for users to see what is a mandatory field. We are about to go live with F360M and have no asterisks to identify mandatory attributes it makes it very difficult to train staff.
