Precondition Filters: Allow for approval teams or "dynamic" groups of members
Currently a transitions "Precondition filters" are limited to two options "Additional Owners" and "Owner".
The wish is to expand that functionality, so a group of approval users can be defined and the "Precondition filters" allow that to be selected instead.
That would be a great addition. I have asked for very similar things before. I currently use scripting to achieve the same functionality. Basically I use a transition from a state that returns to the same state to see if the approver meets certain criteria. If they do, I script the transition to the next state.
@Richard.Rankin the precondition filters aren't limited to just owners of the record. If you add a picklist field with the picklist being set to "Users, ALL By Name" you can then use that field as a precondition script.
Making the field a Multiple Selection will allow the precondition filter to be a group of users.
Your action can then determine if you want the action to be performed once by 1 person in the group or does the action have to be all users in the group.
An example for using this would be to have 2 fields (read-only) with 1 named "remaining approvers" and the other field named "approved by". Your script would move the approver from the 1st field to the 2nd when they have approved.
