Partial Workflow Locking

Partial Workflow Locking

Currently, workflow locking is an all-or-none attribute. Either the entire item is read-only - with the exception of certain sections of item details - or the entire item is editable.

At or beyond a certain state, It would be great if specific tabs of an item were un-lockable. For example, a user would:

- be able to add an attachment to an item

-BUT-

- not be able to edit or modify anything else in the item details.

This might, for example, be a subset of the 'workflow locking' check box in the workflow editor, where the user can optionally select which tabs are locked to the user.

Great Idea, and one i've been thinking about recently. Hopefully along the same tract but I was thinking the editing on a Section should only be allowed based on the workflow State.

Therefore on create a user adds in the required information.

At the next workflow state the user who as workflow permissions can currently edit this data. This should change so they can only edit the required section for their task. and so on as the record progresses.

This would make it clearer for the user on what actions are required and also allow for the NON editing of sections when a User might have a workflow action to do other action that need different section to be completed.
