I'd like to suggest an idea to enable the Bill of Materials tab to be able to show a field that is of the type 'Multiple Selection'.
In the context of the design of our 'Item Details' tab in our 'Items & BOMs' workspace we have a matrix that lists each row as an approved part, where the columns contain the following data:
- Manufacturer Part Number (single line text)
- Manufacturer (single selection [WS] picklist)
- Description (single line text)
- Preference (single selection picklist)
- Supplier (multiple selection [WS] picklist)
Using this in the context of common components such as resistors, capacitors, fasteners, etc. there are multiple distribution sources and multiple approved parts. It would be very helpful for someone who has no or limited technical knowledge of components and where to source certain components (such as the Purchasing Department) to see a BOM interface with part numbers and the multiple approved suppliers field.
Currently if I enabled the field in the Bill of Materials tab it just displays blanks for items that have multiple entries populated. This is also all in the context of the Modern UI.
