DWF or PDF Markup

DWF or PDF Markup

It would have been nice to markup a PDF or a DWF in Fusion Lifecycle. Similar technology exists in Inventor Design Review and BIM 360.

The marked up PDF or DWF can be used as supporting documents as part of a Change Order. Or, to report a quality issue.

Yes, a lot of customers asks on it. This is a basic function in another PLM systems...

To add to this, we need the ability for users to add/edit attachments on records that are locked. Needs the extra layer to lock fields, lock attachments, or lock both at a specific workflow step. This would feed into being able to add or edit markups.

Is this on the road map for 2021?

Yes, it's sad to say but being able to do redline markup, taking dimensions, doing notes is not a new concept and Autodesk was on the right path with the DWF format and Design Review.... However it was not implemented in Vault Thin Client and made available on mobile/web interfaces fast enough... That killed DWF, along with competing products on the PDF platform that did it better and faster (redline and mobile that is). I still prefer working with DWF for drawings... So yes, when will Autodesk provide us with a full turnkey solution/option?? It's a good question!!

PDF redline markups... still a need in 2024. Just do it Autodesk!
