Attachment Size

it would be swell if we had the ability to change the size limit bigger than 512 megabytes for attachments. often we have assemblies that have software files that exceeds the limit. we cannot load these Files in Autodesk which forces us to use another system to store our Software files.

I agree that files are getting bigger and bigger.  But it's still difficult to manage large files in a cloud system.  It takes a while to upload these files.

Have you tried zipping and splitting the file into segments?  I used to share VMware images to colleagues in other countries.  What I found work best was to zip the folder into a single file and split it into equally sized numbered segments.  The size that worked best was 100 megabytes.

When you download and reassemble the files, you would be able to see if any of the segments were corrupted in transfer.  Typically, 1 or 2 might be corrupt (by looking at the size, you could tell which one was corrupt because it was smaller).

Hi Richard, this is very curious case to me.  Would you kindly elaborate an example of a cad tool or a file type that produces single files in the sizes of 500MB+ within the context of a large assembly. Are you making a solid or are you shinkwrapping the entire assembly that the individual file is this large? Thanks in advance,

I have seen Assembly Software Files that exceed 500MB, its rare but it happens. there is no where to store these files if we cannot change the File Size attachments

I understand that the file size for attachments has gone up from 500MB to 1GB, however in using this for facilities we are having issues easily getting point clouds and renderings from our engineering partners as these said files well exceed the 1GB limit.  Is there a possibility to increase the limits again?  I know that large files are not necessarily great for cloud servers but we are having issues obtaining the files we need as securely as using Lifecycle.
