Allow Computed Fields to access fields of linked items

In scripting, it is possible to replace the functionality of derived fields by using 

item.FIELD1.FIELD2

 where item.FIELD1 is a linking pick list in the workspace, and FIELD2 is a field from the linked workspace.

 

It would be useful if computed fields were capable of this too.
