Admin undo checked out attachments

Admin undo checked out attachments

We have a current issue where one of users has left the business and left a number of attachments checked out. We currently have no way to retrieve these documents.

It would be nice to give admin users the functionality to "check-in" or "undo check out" on attachments checked out by other users.

It will be really nice to have special permission in the administration menu for 'admin undo checkout records owned by others'. This will helpful for tenant admins to undo checkout the records checkout by the other users in the system who is no longer with the company.

In addition to the above a "timeout" function on checked out items would also be useful. If the item has not being checked back in within a given time frame (this could be defined by admin in the general settings) the system undoes the checkout.

We work for a German company where it's customary to take a 3-4 week vacation.  We notice that this causes issues when attachments / documents are checked out but not checked back in.  Not to mention, if people leave the company for any reason, and docs are checked out - what can we do?

Greetings,
I've define a rule where a user with "workspace administration" permission would implicitly have capability to remove checked out file reservations from anyone; no commitment on timeline yet but I'll see if we can accomodate this for the next couple of releases. In absence of that, the admin can always take over the Identity of a missing user, temporarily or permanently: as admin, go to target user's profile, UNlink user from their autodesk id, change email to match email of another (call it 'helper') AutodeskID the admin is in posession of (not their own, but can create another id), and login with those credentials ~ the helper Id will now bind to the absent user's profile. The admin is then impersonating this user entirely and can remove file checkout reservation. Simply revert your steps when done reverting checked out files:: as admin, UNlink this helper AutodeskID from the target user profile, change email back to user's own email and save profile. When the user is back, they will automatically reposess their Identity on their very next login. It goes without saying admin can do this for cleaning up stuff after a user that's left the company eg. take over their shared reports to copy the configuration under their own profile, etc.
Hope this helps~!
