Ability to match on dmsid values in import tool to update existing items

When importing into a revision controlled workspace to update components, it would be powerful to be able to match on dmsid values.

This would be most useful when trying to update an item that has two different versions using the same revision value.

Rather how about the idea of extending MatchOn feature to match on multiple fields (Number and Revision) than one field (which is usually the item number)? That would avoid the hassle of constructing an import file (excel spreadsheet) with DMSIDs.

I never gotten a chance to validate the behavior of update feature on import tool by providing details of a released revision of item (Number and Revision of it with Life Cycle State). Does it always update working copy of the item?

Greetings. Thanks for the feedback and suggestion. We will review this request. Meantime kindly create a custom field in itemdetails via behavior or WF script fill in the item.master.dmsid. You could use that in reports.
