New user/account issues

I am having some issues getting new users access to our site. On creation of a new user I enter the required fields (first and last name, email, and license type). Groups and roles are then managed before saving user. Once saved user recieves the auto generated email from PLM360.
Auto email issues:
-Sometimes the user gets this email and sometimes not
-If not, I provide a link and they can get to the log in screen
Log in issues:
-New users are directed to a general log in page, not one to set up a password
-Emails associated with the account are not recognized
-Autodesk ID is not recognized
Differences in user accounts:
-I have noticed that the Autodesk ID format changes with each user.
-Vairants
-Email address
-First name (space) (.) last name
-First name (,) last name
Troubleshooting:
-PLM360 help>admin guide>Security>troubleshooting accounts. This recommends changing the email address on the account to the Autodesk ID. The tenant does not allow this as it must have a valid email.
-There is no longer the option to unlink an email (I do have sys admin rights)
-I have confirmed email addresses, possible duplicate accounts, etc.
Any help would be apprciated.
