Managing minor revisions in fusion

We are using Fusion for our engineering change process to revision control Parts and Drawings.

Our business Process dictates that we have major and minor releases.

This means we have revision 1 and 2, then we could have revision 2.1, 2.2, 3, etc

I don't believe there are any configuration settings to allow this in Fusion.

Does anyone have any suggestions how to manage Major and minor releases?

Hi,

Autodesk Fusion Lifecycle is not like Autodesk Vault. On Vault you can configure the revision scheme and customize everything. But on FLC, the revision scheme is imposed. The major revision is alphabetic and follow the ASME Y14.100:2017 (excludes the following letters: I, O, Q, S, X and Z) and the minor revision is numeric.

If you really want to keep the same scheme, you can create a field in the tab "Details" and update it (though a script) according the revision of your item. On the script, a concordance between letters and numbers must be done. I know it is not beautiful but if you want to have exactly the equivalent it is possible.

Thanks for the feedback Sylvain, this is the answer I thought I would get.

We are not currently using vault and we wouldn't want to script a revision control solution.  This has to be native functionality and needs to be aligned with vault.

Could you let me know where this is on the development road map?

Thanks

Ian
