Shared report permission + visibility users/groups

Shared report permission + visibility users/groups

Hello all,

Is it me or can the third-party license do a shared report even if they don’t have the permission (linked to the role)?

Moreover, it would be great to not have the possibility to do a shared report if they do not have the right. Like it is designed, a supplier can do a shared report and have access to all the groups and users of FLC. For privacy/security, it is not really good because in the PLM, some suppliers compete with each other.

So I propose to implement the “shared report” only if we give them the right and to have an option like a checkbox that the administrator creates and allows the user to say: “VISIBLE FROM OTHERS”. If you do not check it and do a shared report, the user is not visible in the list of users.

This option can be implemented for the groups also.

Thank you,

Sylvain

@PLM-Sylvain.Bailly, It appears like you granted Share Reports permissions to third party users which is allowing them to share the reports created by them?

In our system a separate group is created for third party users who accesses the data from our system. We made sure that Share Reports permission is not available to them on any of the workspaces which they have access to. When I double checked their capabilities today, i found that they can create reports. but, can't share the reports, which is OK.

Apart from that we made sure that third party users (we call them as contract manufacturers) can only see the released items by adding them as additional owners on the released items.

I am wondering why you are seeing different behavior than what I see in our system (FLC Classic Interface)? Is it something related to permissions/configuration missing your system causing it?

Hi,

I m 100% sure that they do not have the permission "share reports" in their roles (see below). It is very strange because I double check this morning again and I saw the same thing as explained before...

We agree, the suppliers can only see the released items but for some collaborators/suppliers (special group), they can see the working but it is only for 2 collaborators/suppliers.

I do not know why I see a different thing. We are in Classic Interface style too.

If one person from Autodesk can have a look on this it will be good.

You should see Share Reports permission under Special Permissions section as shown below.

Hi,

I checked it again today and now the supplier can shared a report only if I give the right. I don't know what happened in the past but it is fixed now and I'm quiet happy because this problem stressed me a lot.

Thank you Madhav, you are always here to help me 🙂
