Hi @ImDaveM ,

I just typed 3mm and I got the following results

jorgegarcia_0-1702573744519.png

What libraries do you have active? I generally like to have all of the EAGLE default libs active because there are just so many parts there and searches are so much more fruitful.

Let me know if there's anything else I can do for you.

HI jorge, thanks for reply,

I typed in led 3mm and got nothing..

I also noticed in your search you typed led3mm ( without space)

i also noticed thta the part you found did not have a 3d model

I ended up using that same part you found, but i had to get the 3d model  from another part, and i had to modify it so the legs were not do long!

the search needs to be improved a lot, i got lots of led displays and led drivers, the libraries need to be more graphical based.

i should be able to go..

led, th, 3mm, green etc and the results should show up. as individual components and not as libraries!

Im just telling you that the user interface for electronics is too messy and confusing, it really needs to be much much simpler. i have provided feedback and suggestions ages ago, but nothing gets implemented..

i only use it because i have too! not because i choose or want to.

thanks

Dave M

Try "%led 3mm%" without double quotes.
% sign is wildcard.
Btw you should see search in Altium. Looks like from 90s, results are even worst.

HI Thanks, i forgot thats how eaglecad use to work, theres no excuse for this antiquated search, you would think by now, they would fix this and make a modern idiot proof search!

Hello @ImDaveM,

I hope you're doing well. Just to clarify, if you look in my image, I actually only looked for 3mm. For the place panel search the wildcards are not necessary. That was a key part of it's design, the old EAGLE search very much required using wildcards.

It's still missing the ability to search based on attributes but that is being worked on.
