When is this obvious (but impossible) import going to be fixed?

I have a bunch of 3D models and footprint that I have made for various parts.

And now, I have the need for  new SOT23-6 package in a new library.

I can import the footprint from an existing library, but only get the footprint, as shown.
And, right there, right there in the list of 3D models, is the 3D model for it.

But I cannot access it and get it into my new lib, without making a NEW 3D model and importing the STEP file again.
This is beyond ridiculous!

Or, I have to figure out WHAT part actually uses the SOT23-6 footprint (which is not easy to find, as this new library manager does not offer back-references as it did in EAGLE), then I have to add that device (which I'm not going to use at all) to my schematic, right-click and do "Copy device to library", insert it in my new library, delete the actual device and symbol, because that does not belong in the new library, and THEN, finally, I can use the footprint/3D model, that was right there in the folder all the time, but oh, so inaccessible.

WHEN are you going to make this process easier????

Looking at my screenshot, this BEGS for the opportunity to just drag the 3D model in there, doesn't it?
The ways just about every other software program do it since the 90's.

Hey @jesper8W75R ,

You are preaching to the choir here :). I'll pass this along to our libraries team as additional evidence.

Let me know if there's anything else I can do for you.
