Trouble Creating My Own Component

I need to create a schematic symbol for some custom switch with LEDs devices. I was able to create my own Component, but I imported some other elements to make the drawing easier. I have the image that I need, but it's saved as a Symbol in my Component. When I try to use it on a new Schematic, I can browse to my Library and my Component, but I don't see the Symbol I created.

Any suggestions on what I'm missing here?

Hi @bhuntZJAHM,

I hope you're doing well. In order for the component to be useable in the schematic it should have a footprint associated to it. If you intend for the component to not have a footprint then in the component create an attribute called _EXTERNAL_

Let me know if there's anything else I can do for you.

Jorge,

You have the second half of the problem. I found I had not added the schematic to the component. Once I did, then I got the foot print error that you recommended. So I'm up and running , Thank you.
