Soldermask opening on SMD pad in 3D view

Hello,

In the 3D view,

we have to see the copper where the soldermask is opened on the pad.

See the copper by transparency is good, but also the soldermask have to respect the gerber, cause sometimes we've got geometry on soldermask.

or for example here on copper jumper :

Any correction ?

Thank you

Hi @Anonymous ,

Are you talking about the silkscreen or the stopmask? Everything looks good as far as I can tell in the image above.

Let me know if there's anything else I can do for you.

Hi @jorge_garcia

Thanks for your reply,

Yes, we're talking about stopmask.

If we look on the cam preview it's correct, the copper appear in gold color here.

But not on the 3D view,

It could be great to have the same stopmask (or called soldermask) as the real board.

Thank you

Hello,

It hasn't been yet fixed. I see the same issue in 3D view today, year later.

Any plans to fix it this year?

Hi @Anonymous ,

Thanks for the post. There are plans to fix it soon, but I can't say for sure if it will be this year. What I can say is that it is being worked on and not on the todo list. If priorities change then that might be delayed but that's what I know so far.

Let me know if there's anything else I can do for you.

The only workaround so far is to use EAGLE and push the design to Fusion 360 (button on the right side).

The results then look like this:

As mentioned in this post in the original thread on this topic, this feature has been implemented for component footprints in the May 2021 release if you click on the "View 3d PCB with Options" option within the "Switch" dropdown menu. You can then click on the "Stop Layer Geometry" checkbox, which will enable the feature for a standard 3d PCB.
