Schematic/PCB sync deactivated when new board created!

Hello everyone. I just finished a design and attempted to create a new PCB and I immediately got the sync deactivated error. I run ERC and get zero consistency errors.  I've deleted the new board and tried like 10 time with no luck. Restarting Fusion also changes nothing.

Any clue what is going on? I can't move on with my project now - major setback in time if I can't get this resolved.

Hello Tom,

I hope you're doing well. So would you be willing to share the file for review? This has come up on a few rare occasions and we have not been able to nail down the cause. If you are open to doing this I'm going to send you my contact info.

If you are urgently in need of getting back to work, then you can restore from a previous version of the design. You may lose a little bit of work, but you'll find the issue doesn't occur again because it has been random and rare.

Let me know if there's anything else I can do for you.

Best Regards,

Kudos are much appreciated if the information I have shared is helpful to you and/or others.

Did this resolve your issue? Please accept it "As a Solution" so others may benefit from it.

Happy to share. I did copy all the schematics to a new design and it does not have the same "feature". I will send the broken and non-broken for comparison.

Hi @cyberreefguru ,

Thank you so much for your files shared to us.

We have investigated this issue and the problem is found. It's about the power net status for the 3.3V in 2 sheets are difference. So sorry for any inconvenience.

So when this issue happened again before we put a fix for it, please check below AKN file to correct them.

https://www.autodesk.com/support/technical/article/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/Schematic-PCB-sync...

You could also go to the Design Manager to check the power symbol from Nets/Sheet to double check the power net status to correct them.

We will keep you be posted once the fix is ready.

So sorry for any inconvenience.

Hope you have a great day.

Best regards,

Helen

Hi Helen -- thanks for the response. I made the change in the design and the problem immediately disappeared. Kudos to the dev/QA team for figuring that out.

Open question -- I copied all the schematics to a new design and it worked fine. Curious why the power net problem did not affect the new design?

And more importantly, why ERC did not flag the issue but the sync software had an issue - definitely seems to be a disconnect within the rules being used by the two modules.

Many thanks!

Hi @cyberreefguru ,

Thank you very much for your feedback.

I created a new Electronics project file and then new schematic > new 2 sheets and copy the 2 sheets from old design to the new design, but I am still able to reproduce this power net inconsistent issue.

Could you please share with us how do you copy paste the schematic to the new one? Thanks.

For your question about why ERC cannot flag the file inconsistency in the ERC panel, but we do have the yellow banner to remind Schematic/PCB sync deactivated. Sorry that I have no answer about this yet.

I will bring your question back to our development team and we will keep you be posted once I know something about it. Thank you.

Hi @cyberreefguru , @jorge_garcia ,

Sorry for any inconvenience.

We have identified the issue which is about power net option is different for some nets in the schematic file.

We are working with a fix about this one to address the issue for new created files.

As for the existing file which has had the issue due to this, please kindly use the workaround in this AKN file to correct the file manually.

So sorry for any inconvenience.

We will keep you be posted once the fix is ready for new files. Thank you.

Hope you have a great day.

Best regards,

Helen
