Removing 3D model imported to the package

I just created device for one connector. There was symbol and footprint provided by Mouser (SamacSys) and 3D model was downloaded from the manufacturer's site. Symbol and footprint was imported in the library located in the Team/Libraries/ and 3D model was uploaded to the Team/Libraries/Packages. For footprint I chose

"create new 3D model" to create package for that footprint. Once workspace for package creation opens I go to Team/Libraries/Packages where correct 3D model is stored and select "Insert into current design". After alignment was correct I saved package and it shows correctly under that footprint int the library browser.

Issue is that now I have original 3D model and created package both in the /packages folder. They are somehow linked and I can't delete original 3D model as it is used for package. Is there any way of saving that package so that there is no need to store that original 3D model?

I think that should be possible as packages created by using toolbar wizard only creates package without additional 3D model.
