previous 3D pcb link to new pcb layout

Hello Team,

I was design pcb layout and a 3d file added in the assembly,

now I want to change component placement of same pcb, doing so a new 3D pcb file was save

and again I have to add this file in assembly,

so that I want to know if I am doing various trial of pcb layout and 3D file of that is was single , it is possible

Please share if any suggestions

Thanks in advance

Hello @anuradha.bodke,

I hope you're doing well. I'm not entirely sure what you are trying to do. If you insert a 3D PCB into an assembly, you can use the Edit In Place (EIP) functionality to move components on the 3D PCB while still in the main assembly. That would allow you to make changes to the layout without having to save a brand new 3D PCB.

If I've misunderstood what you need (I'm sure I have) please reply with more information.

Let me know if there's anything else I can do for you.

Hello Sir ,

I was design one pcb layout in fusion with 3D pcb file , then I save this for update in assembly,

ok this was a regular process of pcb design to assembly.

now I am design same pcb with different component placement with different electronic device in fusion.

so I have two different pcb layout with different electronic designs.

Now my question is that can I kept a single 3D pcb file for two different pcb layouts so that I will do many trial

versions of pcb without disturbing mechanical assembly, can this possible?

Thanks In advance

Anuradha

Hello @anuradha.bodke,

OK I understand what you are asking for. You could do this by constantly breaking the link between the 2D and 3D PCB. You would leave the 3D PCB alone in it's assembly and then from the 2D PCB editor break the link. Then in the 3D PCB you can link it to the new layout.

It's a manual process but it's possible.

Let me know if there's anything else I can do for you.
