Press Pull feature does not show up in history even when other features do

Hello,

I have gone through the process of figuring out that you must right click an STL in your data panel and select "Insert into current design" in order for new feature edits to show up in the history timeline at the bottom of the model. However, for whatever reason Press Pull operations do not show up in history and you cannot undo or edit that later. Is this a bug or is there a reason you cannot edit press pull on imported geometry later on?

Hi @austinbcarlson,

I hope you're doing well. This might be a generalized fusion thing and the post should therefore go into the more general fusion forum. Are you running into this in the Electronics Library document? If you can provide more details I can probably get the right people to look at it.

Best Regards,

Kudos are much appreciated if the information I have shared is helpful to you and/or others.

Press/pull has several modes. If it is used in 'edit feature' or 'automatic' mode, it will edit an existing feature, but if in 'new offset' mode it will create a new timeline feature

Jeff, Doesn't that strike you as being a little silly?  This is supposed to be the next gen, cad system, and it is already heading to being as finickerty and non-intuitive as all it's predecessors.  I guess that is Autodesk mentality - don't fix it just suggest a work around.

If you don't like the Press/Pull behavior, I would suggest not using it.  I, personally, never use it.  All of the operations that are available with Press/Pull are available from other commands:

  • extrude
  • fillet
  • offset faces
  • edit feature
  • edit sketch

Press/Pull is just a way to unify all these into one "meta command" for convenience.
