Power symbols confusion

Hi,

I'm doing VCC symbols for different voltages, but something isn't right.

I created three symbols for VCC(flat, arrow and point). Now, how to create devices for all voltages I want(+1.8/3.3/5/9/12 etc..)?

I see dialogs are not in the video.

Long story short - I named pins(via name tool) to voltages(pin +1.8V) in the lib, in device part.

Why in schematic that name gets overwritten?

Hi @silvio3105 ,

Supply pins in Fusion 360 Electronics have a long history and work in a very particular way(this idiosyncrasy is being addressed as we speak so the explanation that follows is temporary).

Chp 8 of the EAGLE manual covers how they work in detail. Here's the short version.

The name and value of a supply pin are irrelevant, there is no reason to display them. What dictates the net the supply connects to is the name of the supply pin in the symbol. Whatever you name that pin that's the net the symbol will apply to anything it connects to.

Look at the supply symbols that come with Fusion and you'll see this pattern. It also explains why you can't have a generic supply symbol(yet) because the pin name is what drives the supply net's name.

Let me know if you have any questions, I know it's weird.

And I assume I cannot use variable ar pin name?

Hi @silvio3105 ,

Not yet, but this will be changing in the near term. I think the new implementation will make a lot of sense and be more natural, especially if you are coming from another tool.
