Moving parts to other libraries

I need to move parts to libraries regularly. This was convoluted in Eagle, but possible.

During the initial design phase, I would build or download a lot of new parts into a library that was specific to that project. After the design settled down, I would copy the parts I actually used into our internally 'certified' production libraries.

How do I move imported or freshly built DEVICES into whatever library I want in Fusion360? If it is possible, it is not obvious to me.

From @jorge_garcia

To move/copy a DEVICE (whole component) from one library to another......

1. Open the TARGET library. In this example, I simply created a brand new library called TEST-ONLY

2. Select IMPORT from the dialog box.

3. Pick the library ASSET that you want to copy into your new library. You must choose a specific ASSET, not the entire library that is holding it.

Now you will see the chosen ASSET in the new TEST-ONLY library. This is a COPY operation and these DEVICES are now unrelate to each other. Editing one has no impact on the other.

Hope this helps someone.

thanks, was looking for that too.

Missing in Step 2: "Select IMPORT" is, that you have to "create a new device" in your target library and then have the choice to name it or import it from another library.
