Library version displayed on component vs library version actually linked to it.

Hello,

All files involved in below situation have been saved.

In a 2D PCB, a component's properties show it belongs to a Library (Version 4 + Edits):

When I right click the component and select Open Component, it opens the correct library, but its v7.

What could be the reason for this?

Hello @dev2EP8UX,

I hope you're doing well. The reason for this is that in addition to the library being versioned, every footprint, symbol and 3D model is versioned as well. So even though the lib itself might be at V7, the 3D model itself is only up to V4. That's why you get the discrepancy. This is common and is not indicative of anything being wrong.

Let me know if there's anything else I can do for you.

I understand, but the properties display the versions of the Footprint, 3D Model, Library separately:

The version I was referring to is the library version. In the original example, the footprint version in the component properties was obviously also incorrect but I had failed to include that in the first screen shot.

Hi @dev2EP8UX,

Thank you for clarifying, I'm assuming you have already updated your design to use the latest version of the libraries.

I'm going to confirm with the devs, but if I recall correctly I believe the design only updates the version when something has actually changed. In other words, if the component hasn't changed since V4 of the library, I think it will still show V4. Let me confirm.

Let me know if there's anything else I can do for you.

Thank you, Jorge. The library was actually changed (addition of 3d package). I'll wait for your colleague's response.
