HI Guys

I need to create VIA of 4mm bore. When i manually create the via, i then cannot put precise placement on the "Position" in properties.

Then, if i start with the predefined via lets say of 1mm, then i can get the position working, but i cannot change the drill to 4.

Is it me or is it a bug?

also, when i try to upload the board design i get the following error

The file type (.fbrd) is not supported

Thanks

Hi @kris.chlapek,

I hope you're doing well. It looks like the .fbrd file type isn't supported in the forum yet. You can zip it up and that will allow you to upload it.

Now with the VIA command you can set the drill value to be whatever you want, just click in the Drill combobox and then type in 4mm and press enter. You'll see the via get big and then you can place it. Once it's been placed then in the inspector you can enter a precise X and Y location.

If the VIA is floating on your mouse cursor you can click on the command line and then enter a precise XY location just type:

( x-coord y-coord) and press enter.

A better way to change via size, instead of the clicketyclick interface is the command interface.
"CHANGE DRILL 4" +  Enter, then clicking your via(s), would change to 4mm.
Much faster, especially when changing more than one.

How to make it for 100 vias in one shot? they are selected either on PCB or in Object Tab.
When usinh command line or by muse change drill only selected one is changed

Self answer:

select all objects type of VIA in object inspector

(ObjectType = Via), then in the listing window bellow called "result", right click in tripple dots"..." create new group, type in any group name.

Then from the top panel click ICON "modify", then "change", then " drill", now for example click 0.25mm or 12 mils for imperial units and click it. Now on the board right click and click change group. All grouped vias will be changed to the selected drill size.
