Importing DXF while maintaining Layers

Hello everyone,

I'm new to Fusion360, and was hoping for little guidance on a problem I'm having.

I have a DXF file that has multiple layers for a PCB. for example a hole layer, a copper layer, and just the base layer.

How could I import those to Fusion360 while maintaining those layers in the PCB?

I want to have the holes layers, the copper and the pads all separated.

I was able to import the dxf in the design mode and that would give me multiple sketches for the layers. but I need those to be in the PCB design so when I export it, the manufacture knows which are pads and which are holes and  etc...

Thank you for your help 🙂

Hi @osamaolabi ,

I hope you're doing well. Unfortunately, the DXF import will only import the entire DXF as a flat single layer so you are better off separating the layers into individual DXF files and then importing those into Fusion 360.

Let me know if there's anything else I can do for you.
