Hello @32loyal,

I hope you're doing well. When you want to associate the 3d package to a footprint in the library document you first go to the content manager and then right click on the footprint you wish to associate to a 3D package you'll see the option to associate a package with it left-click that option. From there you can follow with what you have done.

Let me know if you continue to run into problems.

once the 3D package is created and I do a library update, the 3D component still does not show on my 3D pcb.

I'm having issues with 3D packages not showing up, too. My workaround so far has been to go to the layout, use the replace tool on the part in question and then I get a message asking if I want to use a newer version of the library (or something along those lines). Afterwards, I can test using 3D board view or by clicking Change -> 3D Package and then on the part. The changed model shows up in the preview now.
