How to split a long schematic net wire into two small chunks with labels

Hi,
suppose I have a very long net wire on a schematic sheet between two components with a given name on a single page. Is there a way to break it into two tiny chunks with net labels on each end to clean up the schematic sheet?

Right now I know I can delete a segment or use a split tool, then add labels to each side, but this requires an extra step of renaming one half of the net back to its original name, and some of the PCB tracks routed are deleted because of that.

Thanks,

Sasha.

Hello @fronders,

I hope you're doing well. That's a tricky one, I'm not sure that you'll be able to avoid having to re-route some of the traces on that net but here is something you could try.

Use the label command and add labels to each side of the net. Place them as close to the components as possible. Then use the slice and split tools to remove what you don't need. My intention is that the labels that you pre-place will hopefully preserve the net names and you won't have to re-route.

If it doesn't work then you'll have to re-reroute some traces.

Let me know if there's anything else I can do for you.

been there, tried that - doesn't work. Would be useful to add such a feature, don't you think? 🙂

@jorge_garcia  thanks for a quick reply!
