How to group layout of one module and copy-paste it few times

Hello,

I am working on a design with four repeating blocks. I’ve defined one block as a module and can see all the components for the four copies in the layout. I’ve placed and routed one block and now need to duplicate it, rotate, and position it at specific locations.

Attached is the top-level design.

Is there a proper way to achieve this in Fusion Electronics?

Thank you,

Hi @ilia.vitsnudel,

I hope you're doing well. Unfortunately, it's not currently possible to easily duplicate the layout between module instances. There is an old ULP you could try but it hasn't been updated in many years so I'm hesistant to recommend it. It's here

http://eagle.autodesk.com/eagle/ulp?utf8=%E2%9C%93&q%5Btitle_or_author_or_description_cont%5D=hierar...

If you want to preserve the layout the recommended approach is actually to draw the module circuitry as it's own design then import that into your main electronic design.

Let me know if there's anything else I can do for you.

Thank you very much,

I think your second proposal of embedding a design of a single module into the main design make sense. I will try it later when I finish with single module. The only thing I am concerned is the connectivity of the signals, given the difficulty to match the signal names from different modules.
