How to add pin number AND names to symbols?

New Fusion 360 user here.

Can someone explain to me how you do this simple task?

  1. I place a pin on a new schematic symbol and I want it to show Pin 1.  I ALSO want it to have a name, like AD0.  There's no provision in the properties for that I can see.   When I make the footprint I want the pin number to be on the pad, not the name because names can get long.

Just like in this example pic attached where the Pin no is 75 and the name is D25.

Any help is appreciated.

Already I am a bit unhappy with both documentation and technical support, if you call what they have technical support.   I entered a support ticket two days ago and not a peep since.  I used OnShape for years and I would get a tech support reply within 30 minutes and sometimes faster.  I guess I'm spoiled.

D25 is pin name. You can change pin name in library, while creating new symbol.
Number 75 is pad name from footprint. Symbol will display pad number when connected with footprint in library(devices - part where you connect symbol and footprint).
You can choose do you want to display nothing, pin name, pad number or both. Just edit pin in symbol.
Hope it helps.

Thanks for the help Silvio.      I ended up figuring this out myself after I began connecting the package pins to the footprint.  Still no help from tech support though.

Thanks!

That is what I am starting to learn. Unacceptable for me.

Hi @MWDGUY,

I hope you're doing well. One thing you may want to try(if you are in the US, coming to other geos soon) is the live chat. That may give you more of the response times you are looking for.

Jorge,

Thanks for the feedback.   I did live chat first and the tech said he would have to enter a ticket for me.  That took 2 days for a reply.   I have resolved this issue already myself but have several more now surrounding the import of libraries.

Hi Scott, feel free to post questions here if I see it I generally respond pretty quickly. Just as something to keep in mind, this week is Autodesk University, Autodesks biggest show of the year and everyone is pretty backed up. That might explain a little bit of the delay you are seeing.

Let me know if there's anything else I can do for you.
