I have a couple parts that had a custom 3D package assigned (e.g. 3D package was assigend in the board view and not to the part in the library).
I have now imported the design in Fusion 360 and have assigned a 3D model to the library. Other parts that had not already had the custom 3D component assigned now show correctly the 3D model from the library, the other parts are still showing the custom 3D model that was assigend previously and the properties reflect this information by showing that a custom 3D package is being used but how do I remove it now? There seems to be no option for this.
Hi @Timon-MESO ,
If you right-click on the component there should be the option to remove the custom 3D-model if there isn't then the easiest solution will be to do a replace on the component.
Let me know if there's anything else I can do for you.
Best Regards,
I know this option from Eagle but its not present in Fusion. I already tried replacing but that did not fix the issue, it still kept the model override. Likely because its the same footprint, changing to a completely different footprint would wreck the layout though even when changing back afterwards, this would not be an option.
I also tried changing to a completely different footprint but it still kept the model override. It seems the only option right now would be to completely delete the affected parts in the schematics which would not really be an acceptable option.
Hi @Timon-MESO ,
I hope you're doing well. I've contacted our developers on this. I'll let you know what they say.
Best Regards,
Hi @Timon-MESO ,
I got confirmation that this is currently not possible in Fusion 360. @HelenChen-ElectronicsQA This needs a JIRA ticket, could you make it?
Thank you in advanced.
Best Regards,
