Fusion 360 scripting

Hi,

I am still evaluating Fusion360 vs Eagle for electronics and an issue that I have run into time and time again is that I can't seem to write a script for repetitive tasks that I always carry out when doing ECAD. An example is that I always use a text size of 0.04 when writing labels and other text in eagle and automated the process with a script. On the PCB design side, I wrote a script to always start a new document with metric measurements and a default grid of 1mm. I cannot find a similar capability in fusion and wondered if there was a workaround or if I am looking in the wrong place.

Hi @robert.martinUKYP4 ,

I hope you're doing well. For the grid you can go into Preferences > Electronics > Reset Grid and have Fusion electronics remember the grid spacing.

There is no option of the eagle.scr file to always run when you start an electronics design, but Fusion 360 can run scripts so you could just manually run the script whenever you start an Electronics project. It's a workaround for now.

Let me know if there's anything else I can do for you.

Best Regards,
