F/B sync problem, ERC pointers disappear while looking, can't approve/accept name, schematic PCB inconsistent

July update, Windows 10 and very new user.

I began a new design, linked to existing schematic, generated blank layout then somehow got the Fusion sketch I wanted substituted; autorouted and it seemed to work.  But looking at the layout, I could see some airwires crossing multiple connector pins which should not be there and don't exist in the schematic. I wondered if somehow when rotating a component (pin header) it generated short circuits back into the schematic which were not visible?

I started deleting schematic wires to help isolate where the errant airwires might be.  In the process, rearranged some positions and wires on the schematic which were still electrically identical Then I was getting the dreaded F/B annotation message with the all the windows still open.

Running ERC again, it still warned board/schematic were inconsistent, and no F/B will be performed. But as I looked first at warnings, like no NAME on a pin header, there was no way to accept that as OK. And, as the window changed to box the device, as soon as I move the mouse to go look, the box disappears and it hard to remember where it was. Why does it disappear when working on the same warning?

I've been going through things like this for days on the same design, learning trying things in Eagle and also FUsion, and realize that is a bad idea and forced myself to stay in Fusion.  The F/B problem seems to come up most of the time, but I have seen it NOT complain too.

There must be something basic I am missing doing properly and would appreciate help piece by piece.  Screenshot attached.

Thanks

Hi @rlweinberg ,

Sorry to hear that you're having trouble.

About the "as soon as I move the mouse to go look, the box disappears and it hard to remember where it was. Why does it disappear when working on the same warning?", we are aware of this and thank you very much for reporting.

As for the F/B sync problem, did you just editing the schematic file while 2D PCB and Electronics designs all are opening? Are you still able to reproduce this issue?

Regards,

Helen

Hi @HelenChen-ElectronicsQA

wanted to add some comments about Back and Forward Annotation.

The image you attached just shows warnings related to the schematic. This is not important at the moment and firstly you should have a look to the messages about inconsistencies between schematic and board.

As Helen already mentioned it is most critical to have both files (schematic and 2D PCB) always open at the same time. Only then changes in the schematic can be transferred into the board immediately and vice versa.

For getting schematic and board in sync again, please run ERC and try to edit schematic and board (depending on the error and situation) until ERC reports consistency again.

Hope this helps.

I'm pretty sure I had both schematic and 2D board open while this occurred but not certain. So I will be careful about that if I see this again. To my great surprise, just about all the problems I've had last week and the weekend seemed to go away with the update just now (Push and Shove etc).  The ERC box still consistently moves to a behind windows still, and the highlight boxes on the 2D PCB for the error and warnings still also disappears.  If I look really carefully, where it had indicated, I could see, for example, a hidden trace stub it had complained of however.  Hope this is corrected soon, I'm getting lots of errors and warnings as I learn to use the software.

Hi @rlweinberg,

Hope all is well.

We have fixed this issue about ERC pointers disappear while looking in latest Fusion release with version 2.0.13615.

Could you please upgrade to latest version to have a try?

Also we have improved other things in the past 2 years for Fusion Electronics maybe you could have a try with latest version too.

Hope it helps.

Best regards,

Helen
