Exporting project files to Altium Designer or other programs

I am currently a user of Eagle and am considering all the options for after it is discontinued. My company frequently finds work with others who use different design tools like Altium Designer. This hasn't been a problem as there is a way for Altium to import Eagle schematic, pcb, and library files and work with them. This is also currently possible in Fusion 360, as files can be exported to Eagle 9.## (.sch, .brd, .lbr), which can then be imported by Altium as normal.

I am concerned that this capability may be removed when Eagle is no longer licensed, and my design files will be locked into Autodesk's cloud. Will there be an equivalent option? Is there a way to send an Altium user importable and modifiable design files? I know there is a collaboration program available between Fusion and Altium, but I worry this may be overcomplicated/excessive for when I simply want to hand over a design rather than go through a collaboration software setup process for every new project.

Hi @h6systems2,

Thanks for reporting your concern. In the worst case scenario, where that function is removed(unlikely) you would still have a way. Export the Electronics design as an F3Z file. Change the extension to .zip and unzip it you'll see the sch and board  files you are used to which could then be taken to another tool.

Let me know if there's anything else I can do for you.

Best Regards,
