DRC error: OUTPUT and SUPPLY pins mixed

I read on the Autodesk Eagle forum that this could be ignored, as it should present itself as simply a warning. However, it's  an error in Fusion.

So, what is the recommended way of hooking voltage regulators up to the supply pins of opamps in Fusion Electronics? That's what I'm trying to do here.

Initially, I figured I could just name the net from the regulator output pin +11V, and do the same with the name of the net going into the opamp supply. Now they're the same net. That didn't work all too well.

There is a library called supply1, so I tried connecting the component V+ to the net, and that's when I got the error.

How am I supposed to do this?  There is a probably a simple solution.

Hi @pstormarkG9SGY,

I hope you're doing well. So you can still ignore the ERC error since this is an intentional connection.

If you really want to get rid of it then here's what's going on and what you can do to fix it. Basically, pins with the OUT direction should never connect to pins with the SUP direction. It makes sense, in general it's not a good idea for component outputs to connect straight to a power rail. It will likely release the magic smoke, or at the very least it will malfunction (think connecting your op amp output straight to the power rail, what would happen?)

So now you know what's going on. The solution is to change the voltage regulator symbol and change the direction of the regulator output from OUT to PWR. This will get rid of the error.  You may still get a warning that the name of the regulator PWR pin and the supply pin don't match, but this will happen 99% of the time and the warning can be ignored.

Let me know if there's anything else I can do for you.
