Connect mounting hole to ground plane

I have a PCB that I drew including the two mounting holes.  How can I add pads around the holes and connect them to the ground plane?

I hope you're doing well. Easiest way to do this would be to use Vias that are connected to ground.

@jorge_garcia I'd like to do this with a mounting hole that is pushed back from the 3D design.  The hole was created by editing the linked PCB within my mechanical enclosure to get the correct position and diamater.  Is this possible?

I think in this scenario you have to place a plated through hole on the 2D PCB and then locate it precisely on the 3D PCB. The 3D PCB editing will only get you a normal plain hole it won't be plated or able to hold a signal.

Thanks for the idea.  I don't see how to place a plated through hole.  I can place a via (which technically is a plated through hole), but it is not movable from the mechanical edit-in-place editor.  It seems only true components can be moved.  Another hitch is how to set the diameter and drill size from the mechanical side.

I can work around this another way in my design, so it's not a show-stopper.  I'm not sure how many people this would affect, and so may not be a high priority.

So I apologize, it seems I recommended you use a feature that hasn't been released yet. This will be released at some point in order to allow precisely the workflow you are looking for. For now the workaround is the best approach. You can make a plated through hole pad as a component and then you'll have the benefit of being able to place it precisely on the 3D component because it is technically a component.
