Hello there,
I want to ask you on some helpful tips regarding coil design.
I am currently working on an electronic device model that contains multiple custom coils of exact wire thickness, number of windings and length. I know there is a coil function that allows me to create this and it would be possible to calculate the distance between those coils and create it that way. The problem is that those coils would not be connected (representing one piece of a wire), it would be just a number of individual bodies (each one of them representing one winding). So I want to ask you if its even possible to make such model using Fusion 360, and if so, I would like you to share your tips with me or possibly even some tutorials.
Thanks in advance.

Hi @RigelB ,
I hope you're doing well. This isn't my forte, but I think you can use the join command to make the various pipes a single body. If you post this in the general Fusion 360 forum you might get a more helpful answer, since your questions is more about modeling than the actual electronics.
Best Regards,
Not hard at all. Jim Tonne has free software called ELSIE. It's really a rather amazing package, and I use it ALL the time. One thing it does--pretty well--is "wind coils." It also is a very good LC filter design platform. I've turned out lots of products--and projects--that use those filters and they all work as they should.
When you're installing ELSIE you may need to disable your firewall temporarily. I had some issues with Norton accepting it, even though it reported it as "Safe". It's also one of those pieces of software that Windows 10 keeps asking if you're sure you want to install it. If you downloaded it from the Tonne site, it's safe.
Oh...and for toroids there's another useful site: www.toroids.info. I use that for initial winding and frequency data.
Happy winding.
