CAM processor and offsets

Hi everyone,

I have a few .cam files that I created in the past months to generate my gerber files. Some of those .cam files have both X and Y offsets and mirrors enabled.

Last time I used the .cam files everything was working smoothly, the offsets were correctly applied.

I'm now trying to use the same .cam files once again, but the offsets do not work anymore, while the mirroring function works as usual. If I try to change the offset values, nothing is modified in the output gerber file. Everything is generated as if the offsets are set at 0 mm.

Is there a chance that an update messed up with the cam processor? Is there a way to fix it? I need to generate the gerber ASAP, to produce the boards.

Thank you for your help,
Lorenzo

Hi @LoreMaiscai,

I hope you're doing well. Would you be able share the CAM jobs so that we can review them?

Let me know if there's anything else I can do for you.

Dear @jorge_garcia ,

Sure, no problem, I'm attaching here the file. As I told you, I've already used this file several times and never experienced any problem until yesterday.

Thank you,

Lorenzo

Hi @jorge_garcia ,

thank you, I hope this problem will be resolved shortly, you understand how problematic can be to have a software for electronic development that does not work when it comes to generate gerber files.

I had to spend the last two days writing my own script to modify the gerber to obtain the desired traslation in order to proceed with my work.

Best,
Lorenzo

Hello @LoreMaiscai,

I hope you're doing well. See this image. I figure with the offsets you expect the board to end up in the positive X and Y axis. Can you confirm this is the case?

Hi Lorenzo,

Thanks a lot for pointing this issue to us. I have investigated it and this is indeed a regression that unfortunately was introduced in October Release 2023. I have fixed the issue and the fix will be available in the upcomming March release.

I apologise for any inconvenience this might've caused you.

Please let me know if there is anything else I can help you with.

Kind Regards,

Hi everyone,

@jorge_garcia you're right, the board were supposed to be mirrored and then shifted back to the first quadrant. I arranged the translation myself, luckily the mirror function still works, otherwise it would have been way harder to script it by myself.

Thank you @constantin.popescuXD3CL , I'll look forward for the release of the update.

Kind regards,
Lorenzo
