Audio tubes library ?

Hi there,

I am trying to use Fusion 360 electronics to make the schematic (and then PCB) of a guitar tube amplifier. But tubes, even the most common like a 12AX7 don't seem to exist in any library. Which seems weird to me. Where am I mistaking ? How can I manage that ?

Thank you !

I guess there are no footprints because nobody needs them. Those tubes go in sockets, and the sockets connect to the PCB with wire. They are not ment to be soldered directly to a PCB, so there is no need for a matching footprint.

If you do solder directly on the pins of the tube, you risk breaking the glass. Only tubes with thin wires (like some nixie tubes) can be soldered directly.

Hi @schisme,

I hope you're doing well. There are libraries for tubes and their sockets, users uploaded some to our old repository. Check these out when you have a chance

http://eagle.autodesk.com/eagle/libraries?utf8=%E2%9C%93&q%5Btitle_or_author_or_description_cont%5D=...

Let me know if there's anything else I can do for you.

Hello,

In many tube amps, even pedals, tubes sockets are soldered directly to the PCB. It is the case for many popular manufacturers. In anyway, for the schematic, I need the tube architecture inherent of its type.
