Assembly variant in Fusion electronic.

Hello Team,

I had making assembly variant and remove some part, but it's still available on pick and place file?

Anyone have suggestion for clear this issue?

Many thanks.

On simple variant just use an editor to take out the required components. This must be redone every time the PNP files are regenerated. This issue must be addressed as it renders the variant capability useful only for making a BOM from the OUTPUTS menu.

Hi Everyone,

Thank you for the feedback, we really appreciate it.

@HelenChen-ElectronicsQA This is a worthwhile enhancement request it would be good to make a ticket for it.

Hi @duc.chunguyen@jorge_garcia2 ,

Thank you very much for reporting this issue and so sorry for any inconvenient.

I will log an improvement about this.

By the way, I tried on EAGLE 9.6.2, and noticed even if we choose the variant which has hidden the part, in the CAM processor, there is a tooltip to remind the CAM processor will output all objects to PnP, regardless of current variant setting.

So the easiest workaround currently looks like to remove the parts from the generated PnP files manually as @gtoner2506 suggested.

Hope it helps a little.

@HelenChen-ElectronicsQA Thank you a lot, I had doing hand by hand for my design before. But when we're going to Manufacturing the design this is take a lot of time and raising assembly failure rate.

Looking a updated ASAP.
