Trouble placing via on tight space

Hello there!

I'm designing a PCB based on the RP2040 IC, and by following their documentation and checking the PCB design for their minimal design example, I see that they route some power connections (3V3 and 1V) in the space between the middle ground/thermal pad of the IC and the pins:

So there is a couple of vias on the 1V1 line to connect to the other pins and I'm trying to do that in Fusion 360 but I'm not been able to. It seems like the via only wants to "stick" to one side of the pad, here is a video to show it:

(view in My Videos)

I don't think is a matter of space, because if you see at the end of the video, I'm able to actually place the via in that small parte in top.

Is there a way to achieve this? Any help is highly appreciated.

Thanks!

Hi @jvlob,

I hope you're doing well. There are a couple of things at play here:

1) Adjust the overall diameter of the via, you don't need that much annular ring for this via. With that said make sure DRC has been setup to match whatever the board house can do, otherwise the smaller annular ring value will be ignored.

2) Currently you probably have push/walkaround violators active. If you set it to ignore you will be able to place the via wherever you want even if doing so would incur in violations.

Let me know if you continue to run into issues.

There you go!! Thanks @jorge_garcia it is working now. I didn't know about the violators menu. Learning something new everyday 😄

Thanks again.
