Tented Vias - Is this a bug ?

Hi all I'm trying to migrate from Eagle to Fusion but have run into a very basic issue where my vias are not getting soldermask when they should. My understanding is this is fairly simple and in Rules -> Preferences -> Design Preferences -> Masks you set a limit and any via with a drill diameter less than this limit is tented.

However this rule doesn't seem to be firing correctly. I have a via with a drill of 0.35mm and the solder mask is set to AUTO. The mouse over help for this advises : "If the drill size is greater than the limit solder mask openings are created automatically". My limit is 0.5mm and my via drills are 0.35mm yet solder mask openings are being created.

Here you can see 2 vias in my design :

Note the right one with solder mask opening. Properties shows the drill is 0.35mm and solder mask is set to AUTO. Yet its not getting tented. Side note even if I set the limit to 999mm it still doesn't get tented.

The one on the left I set solder mask manually to OFF.

Given AUTO seems to be ignoring the LIMIT setting is this a bug or is it getting overidden by another setting I've not found ?

I exported as a BRD and opened in Eagle and the issue is still apparent:

But if I make a new via in Eagle it adheres to the limit and tents it.

Thanks,

Anthony

Hi @anthony.stirk ,

I hope you're doing well. So this is something that is being worked on.

If you want to use limit to control the tenting, then the soldermask needs to be set to OFF for all of the vias. Currently AUTO is really just an always on. We recognize this is confusing and it will be fixed shortly.

Let me know if there's anything else I can do for you.
